The seven churches of Asia mentioned in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 1:11) are Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. These churches were located in the Roman province of Asia, which is modern-day western Turkey. Each of the seven letters addressed to the churches in Revelation 2-3 contains a message of instruction, encouragement, or reprimand from Jesus Christ to the individual churches. The letters also contain specific promises to the individuals who overcome certain trials or remain faithful.
